Responsible AI
A family practice,
not a lecture.
Six principles we hold, tested in real kitchens. You don't have to agree with all of them. Start with one.
01
Co-use, don't hand off
Sit beside your child the first few times. AI is a conversation, not a babysitter.
02
Name the tool
Say it out loud: "this is an AI. It can be wrong. Let's check." Modeling skepticism is a gift.
03
Protect attention, not from AI
The harm isn't AI. It's unbounded AI. Set a time, a purpose, an off-ramp.
04
Keep the work theirs
Use AI to ask better questions, not to skip the thinking. Thinking is the point.
05
Data literacy starts young
Talk about what the AI sees, stores, and learns. "Would you say this to a stranger?" still works.
06
Leave room for boredom
Boredom is the compost of creativity. Don't AI it away.
